The Florida Aquarium
The Florida Aquarium is a large aquarium in Tampa, Florida that is home to over 7,000 species of aquatic plants and animals. This aquarium is over 250,000 square feet large and is a very popular destination for Tampa folks and tourists from around the world as well. The Florida Aquarium is a benevolent organization as well, so you will not feel bad supporting them! They are a not for profit organization, and they are heavily involved in the preservation and conservation of marine life.
Though it is primarily an Aquarium, it is surprisingly home to animals who do not live in the water. There are also exhibits at the Florida Aquarium such as the Wetlands exhibit that have large mangrove forests and birds flying around the trees. The Touch Pools are also a favorite exhibit for many brave Aquarium patrons who would like to touch and interact with sea life.
The Florida Aquarium is located in Downtown Tampa, Florida about 30 minutes from Carrollwood, Florida. This museum is also near by.
